  • Rules Of Conduct

This Forum was created to be an information resource and user-driven community focused on all aspects of BioNano’s technology including the Irys system. We hope this Forum to become the central location for Bionano’s technology discussion and education. The site will always attempt to cater to everyone, regardless of scientific background or knowledge.

    Rules of Conduct:
The Forum members represent a wide variety of professionals - all are welcome to participate in conversations on our Forums. When you participate in discussions, you may encounter individuals whose opinions differ from your own. We hope that you will approach these encounters in a spirit of tolerance, accepting the rights of others to share ideas that you may not agree with.
We will not censor members for expressing an opinion, within the limits of these Rules of Conduct. To maintain a welcoming and safe community, and be sure everyone feels free to speak, we cannot permit behavior that disrupts conversations and community of our members. Our moderators have the right, but not the obligation, to remove or move any member-generated content for any reason, without notice.
The Rules of Conduct below apply to public community areas of this Forum, such as message boards, public media, etc. While they do not necessarily apply to member-controlled personal pages such as blogs and profiles, members may enforce these rules on their personal pages at their discretion. Postings on these forums are all public and may appear in public search results. Accordingly, users should not post personal details or information that should not be publically available.

Courtesy: You agree that you will be courteous to others, even when disagreeing, and even to those whose beliefs you think are false or objectionable. When debating, express your opinion about an individual’s ideas, not about them personally. Do not make negative personal remarks about another's age, disability, gender, ethnicity, race, nationality, intelligence, character, appearance, health, mental health, education or any other personal characteristic.

Disruptive behavior: You agree not to disrupt or interfere with discussions, forums, or other community functions.

    You agree not to:
    • Introduce any form of malicious software into the community.
    • Plagiarize or violate copyright, database, trademark, trade secret, privacy, personal or proprietary rights of any kind. (Users will generally need the explicit permission from copyright owners of any existing articles, news reports, music, video clips or other copyrighted material before posting them)
    • Publish anything containing unlawful, objectionable, disruptive, offensive, harassing, threatening, defamatory, obscene, offensive, abusive, hateful, inflammatory, profane, racially offensive, sexually offensive, or religiously offensive content.
    • Promote illegal behavior, contain violent or sexually explicit material or advocate, promote or assist any unlawful act such as (by way of example only) terrorist acts, copyright infringement or computer misuse.

Local guidelines: You agree to observe the rules and guidelines posted for specific community areas.

Spam: You agree not to repeat substantially the same content (including URLs) more than once on the Forums

Copying messages: You agree not to post or forward transcripts of e-mail or other personal communication without the author's express permission.

Use of code: You agree not to upload or link to any other code, tags, scripts, animations, file or program. You agree not to post content that is visually disruptive.

Your contact information: You agree to provide a valid e-mail address in your profile at all times. (It will not be displayed to others.)

Impersonation: You agree not to impersonate or spoof Forum members, or BioNano employees.

Complaints: If there are problems, we want to know about them so that we can fix them. Please report complaints and problems to the Admin. Do not post complaints on the site; they will be removed.
